Keep it three

Stay at home, protect the NHS, save lives

See it, say it, sorted

Just do it

Every little helps

I’m Lovin’ It

Catch it, kill it, bin it

Stop, Look and Listen

Stop, Drop and Roll

Seeing a pattern?

They use the rule of three. Over the years this has been used in comedy, fairy tales, speeches and marketing.

Using the rule of three makes it easier for people to remember it, store it and spread it.

But how does it get remembered and stored?

Our brain is a pattern making machine. It groups things together.

And a pattern can be called a pattern only if it has been applied to a real world solution at least three times.

Once Is Chance, Twice is Coincidence, Third Time’s A Pattern.

What we can learn from these messages and the rule of three?

Without your market message being remembered you have not achieved anything.

Using the rule of three allows your message to be remembered better.

These messages need to get straight the point. The longer the message the quicker you lose people’s interest.

  1. Keep
  2. It
  3. Simple
